| KTM Industries Honored with Responsible Packaging Award from Organic Industry
(Lansing, MI) - KTM Industries was honored with a Responsible Packaging Award for its Green Cell™ Shipping Cooler product line during the Natural Products Expo East and All Things Organic at the Boston Convention Center on October 14 by the Responsible Packaging Project.
The Responsible Packaging Project is a non-profit collaboration of the organic and natural products industry to drive ecologically and socially responsible packaging innovation. The awards recognize industry achievements and innovations in environmentally responsible packaging.
KTM’s Green Cell™ Shipping Coolers product line was recognized for its biobased, non-GMO material content and compostability as a replacement for fossil fuel-based polystyrene coolers. Green Cell™ Shipping Coolers provide effective thermal protection to perishable products during transit. Many companies throughout the US use Green Cell™ Shipping Coolers to safely ship pharmaceuticals, specialty foods, nutritional supplements and life science kits and test media.
KTM’s President and CEO, Tim Colonnese, remarked at the award presentation:
“On behalf of the entire KTM team, I extend my thanks to the committee for this prestigious award. For over 13 years, KTM has developed and offered products that represent our core values: biobased, natural, safe, made in America. The Green Cell™ Shipping Coolers for which KTM received today’s award feature these qualities. We look forward to working with suppliers of natural products to select a packaging material that is as natural as the products they sell.”
KTM Industries is a Lansing MI-based manufacturer of environmentally sustainable products specializing in starch-foam technology. KTM was spun out of Michigan State University’s Chemical Engineering department in 1997.
